Flower Show: 1868-2024

This village institution first appeared in 1868 when a full and comprehensive report of the day’s activities appeared in the Sussex Express.

The show has continued with many changes with breaks during the two world wars and also one year in the 1980s when the show failed through lack of interest.

Originally held in Glynde Park the show moved to the Recreation Ground between the wars. For several years in the 1980s it was held in the garden of the Trevor Arms but returned to the Recreation Ground in about 1990.
