GLYNDE

THE ANNUAL FEAST DAY of the Friendly Society was held here on the 25th May. The members and their friends attended Divine service at Glynde Church, and afterwards proceeded to a field near the railway station, kindly lent by Mr Jenner for the occasion, where a booth had been erected for the accommodation of the party. After the distribution of the shares and other business had been transacted, the members partook of an excellent dinner, provided by Mr Underwood of the Trevor Arms. The Rev W de St Croix presided, as usual, and was supported by W L Christie, esq, Rev J B Drury, Curate of Beddingham, and Messrs W Harvey, T Holmden, Hother, Midhurst, Wiltshire, Horton, etc. The toasts as usual on such occasions were duly honoured, and a pleasant afternoon was spent by all. The Railway Band was in attendance, and performed some excellent music. The Club is in a flourishing condition, with a good reserve fund.
